Mom Boss: You Better Grow Girl!
When I originally decided to leave my corporate job at the end of December 2017, I had big hopes for a great future as a Mompreneur. I didn’t have all the answers, but I just knew it was what I had to do. It was the next step for me.
2018 proved to be one big roller coaster of highs and lows, ins and outs – just A LOT going on. I often found myself not necessarily regretting the decision to leave my job, but just wondering what exactly was I doing. What was my mission, my goal, my future with this blog/brand… who was I becoming??
Even though I felt like I was all over the place with life and transitions, I’m so thankful to God that I made it. I also survived some challenging times with Post Partum Depression. I am so thankful for the blog because once again, it has given me something to focus on. It was bigger than what was in front of me, and the support I received from you all through that season has been so deeply appreciated.
So now here we are in 2019 and I feel like I have a MUCH clearer sense of my identity, my value as a writer/blogger, and even in my art business – you can see the growth. Now thinking of it, I believe the evolution of my art is very telling of how much growth I’ve had in the past year and a half.
Because of some positive new developments in our home, Samson has now returned to his former daycare/preschool, and for the first time, Kingston has joined him too. Now there’s no excuse to not take all I do to the next level. This time I also have a clearer game plan. I am seeking God more as I did in the beginning. I’m more confident in what my purpose is and how I’ve been created to positively influence the world in this season of my life.
It’s Just Revelations…
We may have goals and dreams that we feel have changed over time and seasons. However, I don’t think they really do change. As we go further on, and tap more into what we love and feel drawn to, I think more is just revealed to us. It feels like changes, but it’s really just revelations. There are levels to this.
So if you feel like you are stuck, and that what you set out to do at the beginning of the year is not happening – don’t give up hope. It’s okay to pull over to the rest stop and reassess your life roadmap. Check in with the GPS (God) to see if you’re on the right track or need to take another way. Then get back on the road and go!
What Can We Expect from Sincerely, Mrs. Mommy?
I’ve decided, after much thought, conversations, and mind-blowing confirmations that I need to sprinkle more of my authentic self and my faith into this blog. Hence my current 30 Day Prayer Vlog for Mom’s on YouTube. A daily vlog of prayers on relatable topics for Mom’s for the month of June. I also plan to deliver more inspirational and helpful content that is relatable to moms like me (and hopefully you too). They say your vibe attracts your tribe… I’m hoping that’s you and that you jump on board.
Listen y’all, I know I can’t be everything and everywhere for everyone (no one can). However, I’m determined to reach that ONE Mom who desperately needs to read, hear, or watch whatever it is God has led me or my guests to share with her. So if you follow me on social media, you’ll be seeing more. And although it may be a little challenging to keep up, (trust me I’m trying to keep up too), go ahead and subscribe to the blog, and I’ll update you with all the links and things you may have missed throughout the week, in a weekly newsletter. I haven’t worked out the kinks yet with that but it’s coming! SO go ahead and subscribe here anyway 🙂
