National Infertility Awareness Week
This week is National Infertility Awareness Week (April 24th – 29th). I was in prep mode collecting Birth Stories for May’s Mother’s Day Theme, when my friend Kamia reached out and reminded me of she and her husbands struggle with secondary infertility. It was a topic I planned to have on Sincerely, Mrs. Mommy at some point. However, her reaching out now… I took it as a sign that this was the perfect time.
This week I have two PHENOMENAL women with two very different experiences in their journey through infertility. Yet, they have one important thing in common – they tried one more time, and their dreams have been fulfilled. Through tears, heartache, and disappointment, they leaned in on their faith, the support of those closest, and the hope that burned inside them to not give up – try one more time. Kamia and Kayla have both ended up with MORE than their hearts desired. They got more than their happily ever after. I am sooo honored and excited for them to share their stories here with you this week!
My sister struggling with Infertility.. I see you, I hear you, I feel you… but most of all, I’m rooting for you! However and in whatever way infertility has come into your life, just know this… don’t give up. As hard as the days, months, years may be. As upsetting it is seeing another negative pregnancy test. As perplexed with emotion you feel, seeing a family member or a friend become pregnant with ease- while you’re still waiting. As challenging and draining that it may be on your marriage. As expensive as the fertility treatments and procedures are. Keep up the faith and with all your might, don’t give up on your dream. Don’t give up on that child. They may not come how you expected, planned or imagined, but the gift of motherhood can and will be yours. Believe in the impossible. Your “one day” just may be a little closer than you think.
